Since the Fed did, indeed reduce the Fed Funds Rate to 1% today, corresponding retail interest rates should decline as well. This is the lowest rate since June 2003 and that was low. This may well be the time to seek a mortgage and you may want to look at the smaller local/regional banks. Those banks typically did not participate in the exotic investments and huge corporate loans that have affected (infected) the largest banks.
You may have better luck in your own hometown.

Kathy Lay wrote:
In the entertainment vain-- Bill Lay is starring(?) with three other guys in Little Theatre of Portsmouth's fist show called "Doubles." It's hillariously funny. There are only 2 more shows left. Saturday Nov.1 at 8PM and Sunday Nov2 at 2:30.

Season tickets are still available. The production is at Wilson-Manor High School little theatre on Elmhurst lane. No reservations are necessary. Tickets are only $10 for seniors and students and $12 for the younger folk. Hope to see some of you there. (Cost less than a movie).

Kathy Lay 465-0626
